Regional publisher Newsquest is launching a campaign to promote health and wellbeing in older people as part of a new partnership with charity Age UK.
Newsquest will today launch the ‘Act Now Age Better’ campaign across its 200 local and regional titles, encouraging people in mid-life to embrace ageing and take steps that could positively change their lives in later years.
The partnership will see the publisher provide seditorial support across its platforms, aiming to raise awareness of the charity and how it can help, with a particular focus on health, financial sustainability and wellbeing.
The tie-up is in addition to the publisher’s existing charity partnership with the Teenage Cancer Trust which will see the latter receive £2.5m of free advertising during 2025.
Age UK chief executive Paul Farmer said: “We are thrilled to partner with Newsquest to bring our campaigns to communities across the UK.
“Their extensive reach and commitment to local news will be invaluable in raising awareness about how Age UK and the network of national and local Age UK Partners can help, driving support for our vital work.
“We know that by working together we can reach and inspire more people which will make a real difference to the lives of older people and help get us all thinking about the later life we want to lead.”
Henry Faure Walker, chief executive at Newsquest, added: “We are proud to partner with Age UK and support their crucial work, kicking off with their new ‘Act Now Age Better’ campaign.
“Our local titles are deeply rooted in their communities, and we understand the importance of addressing the challenges faced by many older people and all of us as we age. We are committed to using our reach to amplify Age UK’s message and encourage our readers to take action.”
Newsquest will work closely with Age UK to deliver impactful content, including top tips, stories of inspiration, expert views and opinion, and places to go to find out more.
