A council has launched a new local news title for the town it serves.
Builth Wells Town Council has launched the newsletter, which will be published quarterly.
The title has been launched by the authority to “inform the community about what the council does, as well as other areas of interest.”
Builth Wells is already covered by at least two local news titles including the Powys County Times and Shropshire Star. Reach plc also has an In Your Area page dedicated to the town.
The first edition of the newsletter was designed and edited by councillor Mark Hammond.
It included pieces on the council’s bee and butterfly garden, sponsorship of Ysgol Calon Cymru’s rugby tour to Manchester, efforts to resurrect the Chamber of Trade and £100,000 spent on transforming shops in the town.
The newsletter will also feature information on council projects, meeting summaries, other areas of interest, local initiatives, and community highlights and events.
It will be distributed to local places where people who are not online would benefit such as the doctors surgery , library and Strand Hall as well as being available online.
